- Description
- The AREG858 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Amphiregulin (AR). AR is a member of the Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) family and is expressed as a transmembrane precursor protein and released by proteolytic cleavage. Soluble AR is a ligand for the EGF receptor (EGFR) and the interaction promotes growth of normal epithelial cells, fibroblasts and keratinocytes. In the context of the immune system AR functions as an effector molecule for tissue repair and homeostasis, mediates resistance and tolerance to infection, and suppresses inflammation. Under different disease and activating conditions AR is expressed in T cells, group 2 innate lymphoid cells, basophils, mast cells, eosinophils, and neutrophils.

- Experimental details
- Western Blot analysis was performed on whole cell extracts of human peripheral blood cells treated with Cell Stimulation Cocktail (plus protein transport inhibitors) (Product # 00-4975) overnight (Lane 1) or only with Protein Transport Inhibitor Cocktail (Product # 00-4980) (Lane 2). The blot was blocked with 5% non-fat milk followed by probing with 5 µg/mL of Amphiregulin Monoclonal Antibody (Product # 14-5370-82) . Bands were visualized by chemiluminescence using Rat anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody, HRP followed by SuperSignal™ West Pico PLUS Chemiluminescent Substrate (Product # 34580).
