Description: Mouse Monoclonal to CNTN1. Human contactin-1 (CNTN1) is a member of the contactin subfamily belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. CNTN1 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored neuronal membrane protein and is expressed in numerous neuronal tissues and cell lines. As a cell adhesion molecule, CNTN1 plays a key role in the formation of axon connections in the developing nervous system. It has been demonstrated that CNTN1 contributes to signal pathways via its association with Contactin-associated protein, receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase beta and NOTCH1, and is involved in paranodal axo-glial junction formation and oligodendrocytes generation. Furthermore, studies have indicated that CNTN1 functions prominently in the invasion and metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma cells.
