- Description
- This antibody is specific for the ~48 kDa alpha 1 and alpha 2 subunits of the Glycine Receptor in Western blots of rat spinal cord and brain stem and in cell extracts, and does not recognize other Glycine Receptor subunits. Immunolabeling is blocked by preadsorption of antibody with the peptide immunogen.

- Western blot of 10 µg of rat spinal cord. As shown in the autoradiograph, the Anti-Glycine Receptor (Product # PA1-4661) is specific for the ~48 kDa subunits recognizing both the alpha1- and alpha2-subunits of the Glycine Receptor.

- Western blot of GLRA1 in rat spinal cord lysate showing specific immunolabeling of a band at ~48 kDa corresponding to the alpha 1 and alpha 2-subunits of GLRA1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA1-4661). Immunolabeling was absent from a rat hippocampal lysate (H), as the glycine receptor is not expressed in the hippocampus.
