Description

This antibody recognizes an epitope found in the EGF-like domain of NRG1- beta 1 (amino acids 179-246). This antibody detects recombinant human SMDF (Sensory and Motor neuron-Derived Factor), but it does not recognize the EGF-like domain of human NRG1-alpha (amino acids 177-241). The epitope is present within amino acids 213-230 of human NRG1-beta 1. This segment is present in all NRG1 beta isoforms, GGF-2 (glial growth factor), and SMDF, but it is absent from NRG1-alpha, NDF43, and NRG1-gamma.

Experimental details

Western blot analysis from lysates of Bowes human melanoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of human NRG1-ß1/HRG1-ß1 Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-23776) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-mouse IgG Secondary Antibody. A specific band was detected for NRG1-ß1/HRG1-ß1 at approximately 54 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions.
