- Polyclonal
- Description
- Histone H2A is one of the five main histone proteins that is approximately 14 kDa protein consisting of 130 amino acid residues and present in the nucleosome in the form of H2A-H2B heterodimer. H2A is mainly composed of non-allelic variants and interestingly atypical variants, such as, MacroH2As, H2A.X, H2A-Bbd, differ considerably in size with H2A. H2A undergoes various post-translational modifications, including acetylation, phosphorylation, methylation, and ubiquitination, which occur in response to various stimuli and directly affect the accessibility of chromatin to transcription factors. This gene is mainly expressed on blood, brain, breast and it plays a significant role in the disease, riddle syndrome.
