Description

Orticumab is a human IgG1-lambda monoclonal antibody designed to specifically target oxidized or malondialdehyde (MDA)-modified low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL). By binding with high affinity to oxLDL, it inhibits the pro-inflammatory and pro-atherogenic effects of oxidized lipids. Additionally, orticumab modulates the autoimmune response directed against oxLDL, which plays a key role in the development and progression of atherosclerotic plaques. It is being developed as a potential immunomodulatory therapy for cardiovascular diseases, particularly atherosclerosis, with the aim of reducing plaque inflammation and stabilizing vulnerable lesions.
