Description

Emactuzumab (development code RG7155) is an investigational, humanized monoclonal antibody designed as a targeted therapy for solid tumors and certain fibro-inflammatory conditions. It functions as a selective colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF-1R) inhibitor. Its mechanism is to bind with high affinity to CSF-1R, thereby blocking the receptor's interaction with its primary ligands, CSF-1 and IL-34. This blockade inhibits downstream signaling pathways critical for the survival, proliferation, differentiation, and function of target cells, aiming to remodel the tissue microenvironment in a way that is detrimental to tumor growth or pathological fibrosis.
