Garetosmab (REGN2477) is a promising monoclonal antibody drug in development by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals for Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP), an ultra-rare genetic disorder causing painful, progressive bone formation in soft tissues. It works by neutralizing Activin A, a protein that incorrectly activates the mutant receptor causing FOP, thereby blocking new bone growth (heterotopic ossification or HO) and reducing flare-ups
