Description

Immunogen affinity purified. Detects human CCL8/MCP-2 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs and Western blots (non-reducing conditions), less than 40% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) HCC-1 is observed, less than 10% cross-reactivity with rhEotaxin is observed, and less than 5% cross-reactivity with rhMCP-1 is observed. Neutralizes the biological activity of rhCCL8. This antibody will not neutralize the biological activity of rhMCP-1, recombinant mouse JE, or rhMCP-3.

Experimental details

Chemotaxis Induced by CCL8/MCP-2 and Neutral-ization by Human CCL8/MCP-2 Antibody. Recombinant Human CCL8/MCP-2 (Catalog # 281-CP) chemoattracts the BaF3 mouse pro-B cell line transfected with human CCR5 in a dose-dependent manner (orange line). The amount of cells that migrated through to the lower chemotaxis chamber was measured by Resazurin (Catalog # AR002). Chemotaxis elicited by Recombinant Human CCL8/ MCP-2 (250 ng/mL) is neutralized (green line) by increasing concentrations of Goat Anti-Human CCL8/MCP-2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF-281-NA). The ND₅₀ is typically 1.5-5.0 µg/mL.
