- Description
- SCIMP, SLP adaptor and CSK interacting membrane protein, is a 17 kD palmitoylated transmembrane adaptor protein that is expressed in professional antigen presenting cells that are most prominent in the immunological synapse. It is associated with tetraspanin-enriched microdomains (together with MHC II). SCIMP is constitutively bound to tyrosine kinase Lyn by its SH3 domain. SCIMP becomes phosphorylated at several tyrosine residues after MHC II-mediated stimulations, which allows for downstream signaling by providing docking sites for Grb2, SLP65 or SLP76 adaptors, and the kinase CSK, as well.

- Experimental details
- Human peripheral blood lymphocytes were surface stained with HLA-DR, DP, DQ FITC, and then were treated with True-Nuclear™ Transcription Factor Buffer Set. Cells were then stained with SCIMP (clone NVL-07) Alexa Fluor® 647 (top) or mouse IgG2a, κ Alexa Fluor® 647 isotype control (bottom).
