Description
Description: The monoclonal antibody 20C2 reacts with heterodimeric form of IL-12 called p70 (sometimes called p75). The two covalently linked subunits that comprise IL-12 are p35 and p40 with a combined relative mass of 75 kDa protein. IL-12 is secreted primarily by activated monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. IL-12 can induced IFN gamma production and plays a key role in the development of Th responses. This 20C2 antibody has been reported to have neutralizing activity of the intact IL-12p70 complex (but not the individual subunits). Applications Reported: This 20C2 antibody has been reported for use in western blotting, immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections, and ELISA. It has also been reported in blocking IL-12 receptor binding and biologic activity in fucntional assays. Storage and handling: Use in a sterile environment. Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered. Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin Level: Less than 0.001 ng/µg antibody, as determined by LAL assay. Aggregation: Less than 10%, as determined by HPLC.
