Description

Simtuzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting lysyl oxidase-like 2 (LOXL2), an enzyme involved in collagen cross-linking and fibrosis. It inhibits LOXL2 to reduce extracellular matrix stiffness and fibrogenesis. It was investigated for the treatment of fibrotic diseases such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and liver fibrosis.
