Description

Amatuximab is a chimeric (mouse/human) IgG1 monoclonal antibody designed to target the cancer antigen mesothelin. It was developed as a potential therapy for mesothelin-expressing cancers, most notably malignant pleural mesothelioma and pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Its proposed mechanism of action combines direct anti-proliferative effects through target blockade with immune-mediated killing via antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Clinical development advanced to Phase II trials, but it has not progressed to later-stage studies or regulatory approval, with development appearing inactive.
