Description

Devextinetug (also known as IXT-M200) is a chimeric monoclonal antibody developed by InterveXion Therapeutics specifically as a pharmacotherapy for methamphetamine use disorder and overdose. It functions as a peripheral pharmacokinetic antagonist, designed to rapidly bind and sequester methamphetamine molecules in the bloodstream, thereby preventing the drug from reaching the brain and exerting its psychoactive effects. This approach offers a novel mechanism for treating acute intoxication and, with sustained administration, may aid in relapse prevention by blocking the reinforcing "high" of methamphetamine.
