Description

Izastobart is a humanized IgG1¦Ë2 monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the C5a receptor 1 (C5aR1 or CD88). As an IgG1 isotype, it is engineered to potentially engage effector functions such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Its primary mechanism is to block the interaction between the complement anaphylatoxin C5a and its receptor C5aR1. By inhibiting this potent pro-inflammatory signaling axis, Izastobart aims to dampen the dysregulated complement activity and neutrophil-driven inflammation that are central to the pathology of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. It is currently under clinical investigation for conditions such as hidradenitis suppurativa.
