Ontuxizumab (also known as MORAb-004) is a humanized IgG1-kappa monoclonal antibody that targets endosialin (also known as tumor endothelial marker 1, TEM-1, or CD248), a cell-surface glycoprotein expressed on pericytes, stromal fibroblasts, and some tumor cells in the tumor microenvironment. As an IgG1 isotype, it is designed to engage immune effector functions such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Endosialin plays roles in tumor angiogenesis, stromal remodeling, and metastasis.
