The antibody is specific to SLC22A7, solute carrier family 22 member 7. SLC22A7 is involved in the sodium-independent transport and excretion of organic anions, some of which may be potentially toxic. The protein is mainly found in the kidney and may act to prevent potentially harmful organic anions from reaching the fetus. This mouse monoclonal antibody, applicable in ELISA for human antigens, provides a means to study the functions of SLC22A7 in organic anion transport and its potential role in renal physiology and related disorders.
