This product is a mouse monoclonal antibody against ELOVL4, ELOVL fatty acid elongase 4. ELOVL4 is involved in the biosynthesis of very-long-chain fatty acids. Mutations in this gene are associated with Stargardt-like macular dystrophy (STGD3) and autosomal dominant Stargardt-like macular dystrophy (ADMD). This antibody, applicable in ELISA and specific for human antigens, provides a way to study the functions of ELOVL4 in fatty acid elongation and its potential role in retinal degenerative diseases.
