This antibody detects SLC22A16, solute carrier family 22 member 16. SLC22A16 is a member of the organic cation/carnitine transporter family and is involved in the transport of carnitine and certain anticancer drugs such as bleomycin. Successful treatment has been correlated with the level of activity of this transporter in tumor cells. This mouse monoclonal antibody, specific for human antigens and suitable for ELISA, helps in investigating the functions of SLC22A16 in carnitine transport and its potential role in cancer chemotherapy and drug resistance.
