- Description
- PA1-053 detects leptin (OB-R) from human, mouse, and rat tissues. PA1-053 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~100 kDa and ~125 kDa protein representing the short and long forms of OB-R from mouse brain extract. This antibody also detects two smaller, unrelated proteins of ~31 kDa and 35 kDa which are unable to be competed with the peptide in mouse liver extract. The PA1-053 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues K(577) E I Q W K T H E V F D A K S K S A(594) of the extracellular domain of rat OB-R. This sequence is completely conserved in mouse OB-R. PA1-053 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-014) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
