Description

Tabalumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting B-cell activating factor (BAFF, also known as BLyS). It binds to and neutralizes both soluble and membrane-bound BAFF, inhibiting BAFF-mediated B-cell survival and differentiation. It was investigated for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis, though clinical development was discontinued due to insufficient efficacy.
