- Monoclonal
- Description
- Protein A purified. This antibody recognizes a glycoprotein of 110kDa, which is identified as CD68. It is important for identifying macrophages in tissue sections. It stains macrophages in a wide variety of human tissues, including Kupffer cells and macrophages in the red pulp of the spleen, in lamina propria of the gut, in lung alveoli, and in bone marrow. It reacts with myeloid precursors and peripheral blood granulocytes. It also reacts with plasmacytoid T cells, which are supposed to be of monocyte/macrophage origin. It shows strong granular cytoplasmic staining of chronic and acute myeloid leukemia and also reacts with rare cases of true histiocytic neoplasia. Lymphomas are negative or show few granules.

- Experimental details
- Flow Cytometry: CD68/SR-D1 Antibody (C68/684) [Biotin] [NBP2-34587B] - An intracellular stain was performed on U-87 cells with CD68/SR-D1 [C68/684] Antibody NBP2-34587B (blue) and a matched isotype control (orange). Both antibodies were conjugated to Biotin. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA and then permeabilized with 0.1% saponin. Cells were incubated in an antibody dilution of 2.5 ug/mL for 30 minutes at room temperature, followed by Streptavidin - R-Phycoerythrin Protein (2012-1000, Novus Biologicals).
