Eblasakimab (Biosimilar Reference Antibody) (IL13RA1)
Antibody type
Monoclonal
Description
Eblasakimab is an investigational, first-in-class, fully human monoclonal antibody being developed for the treatment of moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD). It uniquely targets the IL-13 receptor alpha 1 subunit (IL-13R¦Á1), a shared component of the Type II IL-4/IL-13 receptor complex. By blocking this receptor, eblasakimab inhibits signaling from both IL-4 and IL-13, two central cytokines driving type 2 inflammation in AD. Early clinical studies have demonstrated its ability to significantly reduce key inflammatory biomarkers (e.g., TARC, IgE) and improve skin lesions, with extended dosing intervals (e.g., monthly) suggesting a durable treatment effect. This positions eblasakimab as a promising new therapeutic option alongside existing biologics like dupilumab.
