- Description
- Gamma-1-Tubulin, also known as Gamma-tubulin complex component 1, GCP-1 or Tubulin gamma-1 chain, is encoded by the gene TUBG1/TUBG. Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. The gamma chain is found at microtubule organizing centers (MTOC), such as the spindle poles or the centrosome, and is involved in centrosome duplication and spindle formation. Gamma-1-Tubulin is part of the pericentriolar matrix component that regulates alpha/beta chain minus-end nucleation. Gamma tubulin is often upregulated, but improperly compartmentalized in many cancer cells. Mutations in Gamma-1-Tubulin gene are associated with developmental cortical defects, including microcephaly and malformations of cortical development (MCD).

- Storage
- Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
