Description

Nesvacumab (also known as REGN-910 or SAR-307746) is an investigational, fully human monoclonal antibody that targets angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2), a pro-angiogenic and pro-inflammatory cytokine. Ang-2 is a key regulator of vascular destabilization and inflammation. By binding to Ang-2 with high affinity, nesvacumab neutralizes its activity, preventing Ang-2 from binding to its receptor Tie2. This inhibition aims to stabilize blood vessels, reduce vascular leakage, and suppress inflammation. It has been clinically evaluated for the treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME), often in combination with anti-VEGF agents (e.g., aflibercept).
