- Description
- Fanconi anemia group C protein or FACC is encoded by the FANCC (FA3, FAC, FACC) gene in human. FACC belongs to the Fanconi anemia complementation group (FANC), members of which do not share sequence similarity, rather are grouped together based on the common nuclear protein complex they assemble into. FANC group members include FANCA/FANCH, FANCB, FANCC, FANCD1/BRCA), FANCD2, FANCE, FANCF, FANCG, FANCI, FANCJ (also called BRIP1), FANCL, FANCM and FANCN/PALB2). FANCD2 plays a role in maintaining chromosomal stability.
