Eldelumab (development code BMS-936557) is an investigational, fully human monoclonal antibody developed as a targeted anti-inflammatory therapy. It functions as a specific chemokine inhibitor. Its primary mechanism of action is to directly bind and neutralize its target chemokine in the extracellular space, thereby blocking the target-induced calcium flux and chemotactic cell migration that are critical steps in the recruitment of inflammatory immune cells to sites of tissue damage or inflammation.
