Description
Flanvotumab (also known as IMC-20D7S) is an investigational, fully human monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of melanoma. It is designed as a targeted immunotherapy that specifically binds to a differentiation antigen expressed on melanoma cells. The proposed mechanism of action involves the antibody binding to its target on the tumor cell surface, which may then recruit immune effector cells (such as natural killer cells or macrophages) through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and/or complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) to eliminate the cancer cells. It represents a strategy to direct the immune system specifically against antigen-positive melanoma cells.
