- Description: The monoclonal antibody 1F3 recognizes human TRAF-1. TRAF-1 is a multifunctional adapter molecule and member of the TNF receptor associated factor protein family. TRAF proteins associate with various receptors of the TNF receptor superfamily to mediate signal transduction. TRAF-1 plays a role in regulating cell survival and apoptosis, regulates the signaling of NF kappa B and JNK, and forms a heterodimeric complex with TRAF-2. TRAF-1 also interacts with cell surface receptors such as CD30, CD40, and CD357 (AITR), and cytoplasmic proteins like NIK, RIP2, A20, and TRIP. Expression of TRAF-1 can be induced by Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) and TNF alpha.
