The antibody detects SCT, secretin. SCT is a member of the glucagon family of peptides and is secreted by endocrine S cells in the proximal small intestinal mucosa. It stimulates the secretion of bile and bicarbonate in the duodenum, pancreatic and biliary ducts. This mouse monoclonal antibody, specific for human antigens and suitable for ELISA, provides a means to study the physiological functions of SCT in the digestive system and its potential role in related gastrointestinal disorders.
