Tovetumab is a veterinary IgG2 kappa monoclonal antibody targeting platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFR¦Á/CD140a). It binds to PDGFR¦Á on cell surfaces, blocking ligand-induced activation and downstream signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation and fibrosis. It is being developed for the treatment of fibrotic or hyperproliferative conditions in animals, such as canine or feline chronic kidney disease or certain tumors.
