- Product name
- Rabbit Anti-Human STAT2 monoclonal antibody, clone 2I20M20
- Antibody type
- Monoclonal
- Description
- STAT2 proteins which are phosphorylated by receptor associated kinases, translocate to the nucleus, and act as transcription factors in response to cytokines and growth factors. STAT2, STAT1, and ISGF3G are involved in activating the transcription of IFN stimulated genes that triggers cellular resistance to viral infections. Cytoplasmic STAT2 is tyrosine phosphorylated by JAK kinase upon IFN engagement to IFN receptors, and translocated to the nucleus to act as a transcription factor. In humans, the gene is located on the q arm of the chromosome 12. Splicing variants produce two isoforms for human STAT2.
