- This Crystallin AB antibody is useful for Western blot analysis, where a band is seen at ~20 kDa. There is also a band of greater intensity at ~40 kDa that may be an aggregated heteromeric complex. CryAB aggregates with homologous proteins, including CryAA and the small heat shock protein HSP28, to form large heteromeric complexes.Suggested positive control: human and mouse skeletal muscle lysate, human skeletal muscle protein, antigen standard for HSPB1 (transient overexpression lysate), mouse skeletal muscle protein.

- Western blot was performed using Anti-CRYAB Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA1-16950) and a 20 kDa band corresponding to CRYAB was observed only in Mouse Eye and Rat Eye and not in any other tissues. Tissue extracts (30 µg lysate) of Mouse Eye (Lane 1), Rat Eye (Lane 2), Mouse Heart (Lane 3), Mouse Skeletal Muscle (Lane 4), Mouse Lung (Lane 5) and Mouse Liver (Lane 6) were electrophoresed using Novex® NuPAGE® 4-12 % Bis-Tris gel (Product # NP0321BOX). Resolved proteins were then transferred onto a nitrocellulose membrane (Product # IB23001) by iBlot® 2 Dry Blotting System (Product # IB21001). The blot was probed with the primary antibody (1 µg/ml) and detected by chemiluminescence with Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L), Superclonal™ Recombinant Secondary Antibody, HRP (Product # A27036, 1:4000 dilution) using the iBright FL 1000 (Product # A32752). Chemiluminescent detection was performed using Novex® ECL Chemiluminescent Substrate Reagent Kit (Product # WP20005).
