- Description
- Description: This rabbit polyclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat X-linked IAP (XIAP), which is also known as Baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein (BIRC) 4. This 53-kDa member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family of proteins is ubiquitously expressed across multiple tissues and resides in the cytoplasm. XIAP inhibits cell death in response to stimuli such as UV irradiation, TNF, and FasL. This protein selectively binds and inhibits caspases-3, -7, and -9, but not caspases-1, -6, -8, or -10. Studies have demonstrated that XAF-1 and Smac/DIABLO are inhibitors of XIAP activity. Finally, XIAP deficiency in humans has been associated with X-link lymphoproliferative (XLP) syndrome. Applications Reported: This polyclonal antibody has been reported for use in western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemical staining. Applications Tested: This polyclonal antibody has been tested by western blot analysis of Jurkat cell lysate. This can be used at 0.5-4 ug/mL. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE. Aggregation: Less than 10%, as determined by HPLC. Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
