- Description
- Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C3 (also known as 3-alpha-HSD type II, brain, DD-3, DD3, Dihydrodiol dehydrogenase 3, Dihydrodiol dehydrogenase X, Chlordecone reductase homolog HAKRb, HA1753, hluPGFS, Indanol dehydrogenase, PGFS, Prostaglandin F synthase, Testosterone 17-beta-dehydrogenase 5, 3-alpha hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, type II, Trans-1,2-dihydrobenzene-1,2-diol dehydrogenase, Type IIb 3-alpha hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase) is encoded by the AKR1C3 (also known as DDH1, DDX, HAKRB, HAKRe, HSD17B5, KIAA0119, PGFS) gene in human. AKR1C3 belongs to the aldo/keto reductase superfamily of enzymes that catalyze the conversion of aldehydes and ketones to their corresponding alcohols by utilizing NADH and/or NADPH as cofactors. AKR1C3 catalyzes the reduction of prostaglandin (PG) D2, PGH2, and phenanthrenequinone (PQ), as well as the oxidation of 9alpha,11beta-PGF2 to PGD2.

- Storage
- Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
